Music and lyrics by Steve Leonard
If you feelin’ like the world’s gettin’ you down
Be like Alfonso
If your beautiful smile’s turning into a frown
Be like Alfonso
Alfonso is just goin’ with the flow
Alfonso knows a lot of things that you don’t know
When you’re feelin’ tired, and it’s all too much
Be like Alfonso
If you are confused or feelin’ out of touch
Be like Alfonso
Alfonso has the patience of a saint
Every single day he is a model of restraint
Be like, be like, be like Alfonso
Be like, be like, be like Alfonso
If your plans turned out like you didn’t expect
Be like Alfonso
If you tried to log in, but you couldn’t connect
Be like Alfonso
Alfonso never sailed a ship that sank
He stands on solid ground, you can take that to the bank
Be like, be like, be like Alfonso
Be like, be like, be like Alfonso
Alfonso has a lot of love to share
and there’s nobody that cares like Alfonso cares
Be like, be like, be like Alfonso
Be like, be like, be like Alfonso
Be like, be like, be like Alfonso
Be like, be like, be like Alfonso
Be like, be like, be like Alfonso
Be like, be like, be like Alfonso
Love this song — a lesson in human nature!
When I’ve got some place to go but the traffic’s moving slow I hope I can be like Alfonso
Steve, first time seeing you guys…both shows were awesome .
I heard your band last night along with Almost Queen. Left the concert singing Be Like Alphonso. Such an uplifting and happy song. Thank you Alphonso, and to you for promoting his wonderful qualities.
Catchy tune!! Great message!

“Be Like Alfonso” is the kind of song that sneaks up on you. At first glance, it reads like a simple, almost playful set of affirmations—but by the second chorus, it’s transformed into a full-blown mantra for surviving modern life.
From the jump, the hook does heavy lifting: “If you feelin’ like the world’s gettin’ you down / Be like Alfonso.” It’s repetitive, sure—but intentionally so. The song leans into that repetition like a motivational chant, drilling its message into your head until “Be like Alfonso” feels less like advice and more like a lifestyle brand.
Lyrically, it balances everyday frustrations—failed plans, tech hiccups, emotional burnout—with an almost mythic portrait of its hero. Alfonso isn’t just calm. He’s invincible. “Alfonso never sailed a ship that sank.” That line? Iconic. It paints him as steady, unsinkable, practically folklore. He’s the patron saint of staying unbothered.
There’s also something quietly hilarious about how absolute the praise is. Alfonso has “the patience of a saint.” He “knows a lot of things that you don’t know.” He stands on solid ground—financially and spiritually, apparently. The exaggeration gives the track personality. It’s motivational, but with a wink.
Structurally, the repeated “Be like, be like, be like Alfonso” sections feel designed for crowd participation. You can already imagine this live—hands up, audience chanting, half ironic, half dead serious. It’s sticky. It’s meme-able. It’s weirdly comforting.
But what really makes the song land is its core message: resilience doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes it’s just about going with the flow, staying patient, and caring deeply—even when the Wi-Fi won’t connect.
“Be Like Alfonso” isn’t trying to be complex. It’s trying to be useful. And in a world that constantly feels like it’s buffering, that’s exactly the vibe we need.
Final verdict: unexpectedly uplifting, endlessly chantable, and powered by the calmest legend you’ve ever met. Be like Alfonso.
We saw the group at Freeman arts in Selbyville. DE. Last night we loved the song. Then we played it for our 4 year old grandson and he played it 20 times and lives it.
